House of Torment Halloween 2024

The House of Torment, Austin’s longest running haunted house, is back for another Halloween scare season. While many haunted attractions feature just one haunted house, the House of Torment features three haunted houses — Torment ’99, The Arrival, and The Abandoned — all for the price of one.

We were recently invited to experience Torment ’99, The Arrival, and The Abandoned, and given permission to take photos inside the haunts. I’m not one to get scared at haunted attractions, but my partner was scared at almost every turn and pulled me through while I was trying to check out the details of each scene and admire the costumes and animatronics. There was one room in the Torment ’99 house that wasn’t so much scary as it was technically and visually stunning… and very difficult to navigate and easy to get lost in.

In addition to the three haunts, House of Torment features mini escape room games, axe throwing, a live action zombie shooter, a sensory overload experience, live music, a bar, a hidden bar, and food vendors. So, whether you are a new or repeat visitor, each Halloween the House of Torment offers a new experience.
