The Darker Side of Austin is community-focused and aims to be the definitive resource for the dark alternative community. We, are the goths, the punks, the metal-heads, the freaks and the weirdos… We are the Darker Side of Austin.

The Darker Side of Austin is your resource for all things goth, punk rock, heavy metal, horror, and the strange and usual happening in Austin. We bring many alternative scenes together in one place. We curate a list of shops, bars, clubs, attractions, concerts, events, and more that cater to our dark lifestyles.

Our users are Austin-area locals & visiting tourists that want to go to punk rock, goth or metal bars and clubs, visit cemeteries and do ghost tours. They want to find spell-casting supplies, buy unique clothes and gifts. 

People from all over the world use The Darker Side of Austin as a resource for finding the best in alternative shopping and entertainment when visiting or planning to visit Austin.

The website averages about 500 active users per week with the Shopping and Events sections being the most used areas of the site. 

During the weeks leading up to and during SXSW and ACL Festival,  the average weekly users increases to over 2000 per week. 

To advertise with us your brand, company, product, or event must be relevant to our community, and having an Austin-focus is preferred but not required.
