Hope you had a great start to the year and got to see some great shows. We added over 50 events happening in January & February, including concerts, screenings, parties, festivals and more. This week we are looking forward to some fun screenings over shows. There are a ton this week, especially with VHStival going on.
First the announcements…
Announcements
First, we are moving the upcoming events listings announcements to Thursday for listing starting on Fridays instead of Sundays. The reason for this is that we have been blindsided too often by last-minute show announcements and missing events over the weekend. Especially during free weekend this past week. Those shows weren’t announced until Weds and they started on Thursday. More and more venues are either booking last minute shows, or they are promoting or listing shows days before they happen.
Second, we are launching our YouTube channel next week. You can look forward to interviews with local and touring bands, artists, performers and more! Subscribe now to be notified when new videos are posted. Our first show features the Radolescents at the Lost Well.

We can’t keep up with everything, and some people are announcing their events last minute. If you know of an event that we should include on the events calendar or a new store or cool attraction or other entertainment, let us know in the suggestions sections!
Submit Your Events
If you want to contribute to the Darker Side of Austin, you can now submit an event for consideration. Click on New User Registration under Login/Logout in the menu to create an account and then you can start submitting events. All user accounts and events will be moderated. Only events in Austin will be considered.
